Colin came into Patti's life just prior to Patti's son, Derek's death. His
wonderful support of Patti has continued. They were an item! To see them together, was a joy. They were 'married' in their
hearts. You could see that love with ease. Colin and Patti came out to help with the Garden of Tears along the Chilliwack
River. They ended up planting the majority of the garden. Both have an incredible love of the outdoors. Colin would sit
out on the deck or the dyke and take in the surrounding beauty. I often wondered what part of nature was holding his attention
while he sat there. I truly believe nature was the ultimate high for him. His campfires were the best time to sit around
and listen to his [oft times] humourous stories. He always had us laughing with such joy when he shared. Colin and Patti
quickly became members of our family. They were supposed to have come by last Saturday. I have not only lost a dear friend,
I have lost a member of my family. Patti, has lost so much more. He was her best friend, companion and confidant. Colin was
the person Patti could lean on without reservation when her pain from losing her only son hit. He was always ready to listen,
hold and comfort the love of his life. I will never understand why that wonderful man had to die. I wish you could have
all known Colin. You missed out on a lot. He was one of a kind, our Colin, from England. No one will ever match him. No one
ever could.
Colin will be deeply missed by Patti and everyone who ever met
him. Their time together was short but it felt like a lifetime
